As you may know, Japan is facing a rapidly declining workforce due to its aging population and declining birthrate. Many industries, including construction, manufacturing, and logistics, are struggling with labor shortages, particularly in physical labor intensive field operations.
MODE, a Silicon Valley-based company, is addressing this issue by providing enterprises with its IoT platform, "BizStack," which accelerates the digital transformation of on-site business operations.
BizStack integrates real-time field data with operational knowledge data and offers an AI assistant service that enables workers to instantly access the information they need via PC or mobile chat tools. This platform goes beyond simple data visualization by incorporating generative AI into structured IoT data. Additionally, its seamless integration with widely used chat tools like Slack and Microsoft Teams has earned its high praise. Also, its user-friendly UI/UX received positive feedbacks from its users.
Currently, BizStack is being utilized by major corporations such as Panasonic and JR (Japan Railways), contributing to improved operational efficiency and optimized facility management.
In March 2025, KDDI Open Innovation Fund (KOIF) announced an investment in MODE. Moving forward, KDDI aims to leverage MODE's technology in its own business operations and develop new solutions.
Following the previous article, we continue to see the emergence of solutions that bring us closer to a next-generation work environment where humans and AI collaborate. It is truly exciting to think about how the future of work environment will evolve.
