As an official reseller of Starlink, KDDI has empowered KDDI Spherience in its effort to complement the Cellular connectivity offering with a Non-Terrestrial Network (aka Satellite) offering based on the cutting-edge solutions from Starlink.

It’s an interesting proposition for KDDI Spherience, where we capitalize on some of the key strengths of this newly formed entity as the KDDI group’s Subject Matter Expert in Connectivity.

KDDI Spherience can leverage its commitment to a unified customer experience, consolidated management of Satellite receivers, and its B2B capabilities for billing and invoicing that complements the basic Starlink product. This opens up the market for B2B in a way not possible for Starlink directly.

The early Starlink successes we’re seeing in the market follows a global trend to use satellite connectivity to cover hard to reach areas and white spots on the Cellular operators’ coverage maps. Several KDDI group companies are frontrunners in this space and the Spherience Starlink offering will soon be complemented by a Direct-to-Cell offering for the ‘au’ consumer market division in Japan.
